ING New York City Marathon Health and Fitness Expo (Thursday, November 3– Saturday, November 5)
ALL VOLUNTEERS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND ORIENTATION ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2011 at 6pm-8pm.
Refreshments will be served.
The ING New York City Marathon Health and Fitness Expo will take place at the Jacob Javits Convention Center at 11th Avenue and West 35th Street. Volunteers will work in the following shifts:

Registration
Description: Assist with handing out race numbers to registered runners.

Description: Check runner’s ID at the entrance to registration.

Description: Control flow inside and outside of the expo area. Direct runners to the number pickup and other patrons to the expo entrance.

Description: Assist with activation of runners’ B-Tags.

Marathon Opening Ceremony Escort (Thursday, November 3, 6:00-8:00 p.m. AND Friday, November 4, 4:00-9:00 p.m.)
Parade Escort
Description: Escort delegates from around the world along the parade route. Participant MUST work both days.

Marathon Opening Ceremony featuring the Parade of Nations and Inaugural Hall of Fame (Friday, November 4)
Marshall
Description: Course marshals who will aid in crowd control, course integrity, course safety, and directing runners and family members.

Interpreter
Description: Interpreters who will aid in directing parade participants to designated corrals and locations. German, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese speakers are welcome.

Marathon Eve Dinner (Saturday, November 5)
All Marathon Eve Dinner volunteer jobs will be performed inside Tavern on the Green, which is located in Central Park at West 67th Street.
